xlike is a patch collection for the Linux vanilla kernel. It includes as many stable enhancements for the Linux kernel as possible. These include code from Xen, Kernel Mode Linux, Rule Set Based Access Control, Novell AppArmor, Openswan, grsecurity, Linux VServer, Linux-PHC, web100, Nefilters, Suspend2, Speakup, SquashFS, UnionFS, Bootsplash, BadRAM, and more. It also contains many drivers and fixes. Unfortunately, the number of conflicts between patches grows exponentially with the number of patches added. Sadly, re-use of code is still not as much of a priority as it could be, and the vanilla kernel doesn't have nearly enough hooks within those parts of the code that are highly mutable to make patching a simple task. I'm not really a kernel hacker and I don't know enough about the Linux kernell, actually I just know how-to patch. So, if your packets don't come home tonight I might not be able to tell you why............;) |
